Book Hangovers

By Dakota Stanley

Have you ever experienced the feeling of a book hangover? You are engrossed in a good book, you can hardly put it down. Then you finish the book and after the wonderful afterglow begins to fade you can’t start another book? And you don’t know what to do with your hands? What do you do in those situations? Any pro tips from the other readers out there? I know that I tend to listen to a lot of music and spend a lot of time looking at content about the book I just finished (unless it’s a series and I am trying to avoid spoilers). After a few days the feeling usually fades and I can dive into the next book. Maybe it’s just me, who knows.

All of that to say I just finished the final book (that is out) in a series and it left me with a terrible book hangover. I plan for that series to be the first reviews that I work on, and while a break may be just what I need to help me process my thoughts and put them all together, but it still feels kind of weird to not dive into the next book!

Here’s to hoping that this week I can immerse myself back into a good story and get back into the groove.
